Welcome and thank you for visiting my website as part of your planning for a very special occasion. My name is Susan Lamb and my passion is working with couples and families to deliver a ceremony that is unique, reflective, memorable and joyful; the wedding of your dreams or ,the most special and personal baby or child naming or, a funeral to honour a loved one and celebrate their life..
A little about me As well as a Celebrant, I am a qualified Psychologist and accredited coach and mentor. Having worked in the corporate world for many years, a number of personal life events - including several close family bereavements, led me to become interested in rites of passage including the use of ceremony. I was drawn to Humanism and its secular emphasis upon integrity, honesty, truthfulness and responsibility and trained as an accredited Humanist celebrant in all ceremony types.
I love everything about my celebrancy work: meeting wonderful couples and families and being part of the most significant times in their lives - from the most joyful to the saddest. I never under-estimate the trust that is placed in me to write and deliver a service for someone's loved one - that supports the celebration of a life as well as providing the appropriate space and words in which to say goodbye.
My other passions are my family - I am a mother with two amazing grown-up children and a gorgeous baby grand-daughter. I am garden-mad – particularly roses and perennial geraniums; I am a totally besotted dog-lover with one of my own; in fact, generally, I enjoy what our natural world has to offer and am conscious of the need to protect it during our lifetime. Other people would describe me as well-organised, hard-working and a loyal friend who is fun and sometimes quite silly ... obviously, when appropriate. I welcome the opportunity to work with all those who seek a bespoke ceremony for their life event in the UK or abroad. Available to officiate weddings, funerals, memorial services, baby showers and namings, renewal of vows, retirements and any other event that requires something very special. My approach is fully inclusive and ceremonies are performed for all; all belief systems are respected, without bias or prejudice.
